English to Sinhala translator for documents

Upload a Word, text or RTF file. See the Sinhala translation beside your original, fix anything, then download it or send it to a sworn translator to check and sign. You see the price before you pay.

How it works

  1. Upload your English document — a Word, text or RTF file.
  2. Check the Sinhala draft beside the original. Names, dates and numbers are easy to compare.
  3. Download it, or choose sworn review: a Ministry of Justice registered translator checks, corrects and signs it, with a serial number and QR code anyone can verify.

Documents people translate from English to Sinhala

  • Birth, marriage and death certificates
  • School and university certificates and transcripts
  • Letters, agreements and business documents
  • Deeds, affidavits and court papers
  • National ID, passport pages and police reports

Why not a translation app?

An app is fine for a sentence. A document is different: the names must match the passport, every date and number must sit under the right heading, and stamps and signatures must be read, not skipped. Here you see the whole Sinhala translation beside the original and can fix any line. For an office that asks for a sworn translation, a registered sworn translator signs it.

Common questions

How much does English to Sinhala translation cost?

Add your document and choose the service you need. We show you the price before you pay. It depends on the document and on whether you want a sworn translator to sign it.

Can a sworn translator sign the Sinhala translation?

Yes. Sworn review is offered for Sinhala, Tamil and English. A translator on the Ministry of Justice register checks and signs the Sinhala translation; the certificate carries a serial number and QR code the receiving office can verify online.

Which files can I upload?

Word files (.docx and old .doc), rich text (.rtf), plain text (.txt) and Apple Pages (.pages) work for every account, up to 15MB. Old Word, rich text and Pages files are turned into a PDF when you upload them. PDFs, photos and scans (JPG, PNG, WebP) work for accounts with reading of scans and photos turned on. Ask us to turn it on. Use a clear, complete copy so every name, stamp and number can be read.

Will the receiving office accept it?

Requirements differ. Ask the office whether it needs a sworn translator’s signed translation, a paper copy, or attestation by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs afterwards. Our guides below explain each step.
